In Memoriam by ~DarkIceWolf has such a deep impact of raw, untempered emotion. A beautiful piece to sit back and admire for what it represents. Anyone can sympathize with the loss of many. (
I come from an area where things like this happens all the time, so to see that someone else besides us cares about these kinds of things is such a heartwarming thought. From everyone in Kentucky, we thank you.
And as a counter point. I feel I would like this picture more if it wasn't a furry. Though it is of course up to the artist and I'll respect their decision. I don't personally relate to furries, I find them quite silly (Seeing sonic fan art will do that to you)
And I also feel like you can't put as much emotion into a wolf's face as you can a man's. (Though the artist did do a good job)
So... TL;DR. It's nice artwork, but it's not going into my favorites because personally, it's not "Powerful" to me, because it's too close to the realm of fantasy rather than reality.
(If you're reading this DarkIceWolf, I hope I haven't offended you, it's nice art, just not my cup of tea)
You make good points, and I understand. After all, subjectivity is really at the heart of art! I guess what I meant to say was that this piece can debunk a lot of the hate around furries, like the stereotype that they're all just "furry porn" and "yiffing" and yeah like Sonic fanarts too... It proves that it doesn't have to be like that.
Yeah exactly While I suppose that's true. I'm sorry to say that the bad side of your fandom (Yiffers, Obsessives, Fursuits) Are very vocal. so they don't paint a great picture. But yeah, my best friend is a furry. so I do understand how they're just normal people. But still, I'm not a huge fan of any fandom that treats it like part of who they are (Making connections between gay pride and furry pride)
Ugh this comment sounds really hateful, I don't mean it to be. so I'll stop talking now. I just want to say that I've seen some stupid furries, and they annoy me (Like a guy insisting he has the spirit of a wolf, and bestiality is fine, despite many cases of bestiality hurting the animal)
So yeah, thank you for giving me a thoughtful and decent answer, sorry if mine isn't quite the same, I'm quite opinionated at times.
i agree. i have nothing against furries and they can draw what they want etc etc. just whenever i look at furry art i just...think it looks silly and i cant take it seriously. i dont really consider it fantasy either idk i also dont want to offend the artist, they are obviously very talented but im just seconding this comment here. just because you may like a piece doesnt mean people who dont like that style should "think twice"? the quality of a peice doesnt make the actual style more valuable/invaluable. people are allowed to draw what they want just as much as people are allowed to have the freedom to choose what they like/dislike.
